Description

Our Developmental Team is designed for girls in 6th grade and younger who want to learn the game, build confidence, and have fun! The team will practice once per week from December through February and compete in the Impact League at TRBC.

The season will focus on basketball fundamentals—including dribbling, passing, shooting, defense, and teamwork—in a positive, encouraging, and Christ-centered environment. No prior basketball experience is required. Our goal is to help every player improve, enjoy the game, and have a great first team experience!

Waivers

INFORMED CONSENT, ASSUMPTION OF RISK, MEDICAL AUTHORIZATION, AND RELEASE

I am the parent or legal guardian of the player being registered, and I give permission for her to participate in all activities associated with the Lynchburg Patriots Girls Basketball program during the 2026–27 season. These activities may include practices, conditioning, games, tournaments, team events, and program-related travel.

I understand that basketball and athletic conditioning involve physical contact and strenuous activity. Participation carries inherent risks, including falls, collisions, sprains, strains, fractures, concussions, illness, cardiac events, permanent injury, disability, and, in rare cases, death. I understand that reasonable safety precautions will be taken, but no program can eliminate every risk associated with athletic participation. I knowingly and voluntarily accept these risks on behalf of my player.

I certify that my player is physically able to participate or has received appropriate medical clearance. I agree to inform the coaching staff of any medical condition, injury, allergy, medication, or limitation that could affect her safe participation. I understand that a player suspected of suffering a concussion, head injury, or other serious medical condition may be removed from participation and may be required to provide written medical clearance before returning.

If I cannot be reached during an emergency, I authorize the Lynchburg Patriots Girls Basketball coaches, volunteers, or representatives to obtain reasonable emergency medical evaluation, transportation, and treatment for my player. I understand that I am responsible for any resulting medical or transportation expenses and that the program does not guarantee payment of those expenses.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release and hold harmless Lynchburg Patriots Girls Basketball, its sponsoring organization, coaches, volunteers, officers, agents, facilities, event hosts, and representatives from claims arising from my player’s participation, including claims resulting from ordinary negligence. This release does not apply to gross negligence, reckless conduct, or intentional misconduct.

I understand that players and families are expected to follow program rules, demonstrate appropriate conduct and sportsmanship, communicate known safety concerns, and comply with decisions made by coaches regarding participation and player safety.
